GATOR GOLF SIGNS TWO TO NATIONAL LETTERS OF INTENT

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida Women’s Golf program and head coach Emily Glaser announced the signing of two talented women’s golfers to National Letters of Intent on Monday. Addie Baggarly and Lauren Waidner will join the Gators’ roster for the 2017-18 season.

“Janice (Olivencia) and I are really excited about our 2017 signees.  Each class brings something special to our team, and Addie and Lauren are no exception.  They are good friends, both passionate about the Gators, and are high-character individuals who will be great ambassadors for our team and the University of Florida.”

  • Ranked 45th in AJGA Polo Golf Rankings
  • Received honorable mention on the 2016 Rolex Junior All-American Team
  • Named Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) Big 7 Conference
    Player of the Year in 2013, 2014 and 2016
  • Finished in third place at the 2016 TSSAA 3A State Championship
  • Represented Team East in the Tennessee Junior Cup in 2015 and 2016
  • Third-place finish at the 2016 Under Armour Scott Stallings Championship
  • Finished in ninth place at the 2016 Rolex Girls Junior Championships
  • Runner-up at the 2016 Justin Thomas Junior Championship and the 21st Innisbrook
    East Junior Classic
  • Helped capture the 2013 TSSAA 3A State Championship title for Science Hill High School,
    placed third individually

  • Won the match play bracket at the 2016 Southern Women’s Amateur
  • Finished in 10th place at the 2016 Justin Thomas Junior Championship
  • Tied for 16th at the 2016 Amino Vital joey D. Golf Junior Championship
  • Name the MVP of the Fleming Island Girl’s golf team in 2013, 2014 and 2015

These skills are hugely important to the team golf component and will help make her a mainstay in the lineup over her four-year career. We are so excited to have Lauren, and we are happy she decided to stay close to home and play for a school that she has developed a true love for.”
