GIRONA, Spain — Marta Perez won the Spanish Ladies Amateur with a score of 273 (-11).
Perez, who took a three shot lead into the Sunday’s fourth round, carded a tournament low 67 (-4) in the final round to win by five strokes.
Four of her five birdies came on the back nine including three in a row from holes 11 to 13.
Perez led the tournament wire-to-wire after opening round one with a 67 (-4). From there, she would hold at least a three shot lead for the rest of the event.
This year for Florida Perez was named a second team All-SEC selection after being second on the team in stroke average at 73.32 which ranks 15th in program history. She led the team with eight top-25 finishes with her best finish coming at the SEC Championship when she tied for fourth.
She joins former Gator Camilla Hedberg as winners of the tournament. Hedberg captured the Spanish Ladies Amateur three years from 2011, 2012 and 2014.
